About Me:
Ali received his basic specialist training in Ophthalmology (Eye Surgery) at West of Scotland Deanery and Higher Specialist Training as Specialist Registrar at West Midland School of Ophthalmology, Birmingham. He completed advanced specialist training in Ophthalmic Plastic, Lacrimal and Orbit surgery at The Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre, one of the largest specialist eye hospitals in Europe. He has specialist training in the orbital decompression surgery. He is a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologist, London and Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow. He extended his training to vitreoretinal surgery and completed surgical training fellowship in Retinal Surgery at Gloucestershire Eye Unit, which is one of the prestigious surgical vitreoretinal fellowships in Western Europe. He joined the same unit as Consultant Ophthalmologist before moving back to Pakistan in 2013. He has been actively involved in teaching at Warwick Medical School and Keele University, Manchester. His publications are available and can be accessed at PubMed. His area of expertise include cataract, retinal detachment, epi-retinal and macular hole repair surgery and surgical management of diabetic retinopathy and maculopathy. He also provides expert surgical services in lid surgery, treatment of watery eyes and management of cancer around eye ball. He has been actively involved in teaching at Warwick Medical School and Keele University, Manchester. Currently he is working as Consultant Ophthalmologist at Bodla Eye Care and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Multan Medical and Dental College, Mutan. He performs retinal and oculoplastic surgery at Bodla Eye Care on regular bases.
